Canadian Independent College of Ghana offers a wide variety of education programmes.
Pre - School and Kindergarten
Junior and Senior Kindergarten
In our full-day Junior and Senior Kindergarten Programme, your child receives individualized attention and interactive lessons in listening, speaking, math, reading, writing, science, technology, self and society. Class sizes average between 14 and 16 with one full-time teacher, a full-time assistant teacher and itinerant teachers for visual art, music and French.
Kindergarten students begin each day at 8 a.m. with a morning circle. Our students hear stories, listen to presentations by schoolmates and share thoughts on topics of interest. The day follows with a blend of active exercises, guest speakers, language lessons, math and science activities. As in all grades, our family-style hot lunches, supervised at each table by faculty members, is a time to learn table manners, share stories and meet children from other grades.
Athletics and Arts Awaken Minds
Kindergarten students take part in a structured recreational Programme including swimming, soccer, biking, softball and badminton. Creativity and artistic abilities within each child are also developed through Programmes covering vocal music, visual arts and drama.
After Hours Programme
Available from 4:00 p.m.- 6:00 p.m., children can play or relax after school or join one of the exciting activities such as karate, dance or music lessons.
At Canadian Independent College of Ghana, we offer a dynamic, nurturing and positive learning environment where your child’s curiosity is stimulated, leadership skills are cultivated, and fun-filled interactive learning is meaningful and focused. A low teacher-student ratio and small class sizes (approximately 12-20 students per class) provide an ideal environment for learning.
As your child moves through Grades 1 to 8, the emphasis is on building a foundation for lifelong learning and community service. Expectations for academic achievement are set high, yet balanced with a rich curriculum of competitive and recreational athletics, music and drama, visual arts and exciting excursions.
